How It Works

When you first join, Price Spectre downloads all your fixed price and store inventory listings from eBay.  Once finished you are presented with the main interface.

For each listing that you want managed by Price Spectre you must set a floor price and algorithm.  Next click on "Set Search Options".

Price Spectre works by searching for competing listings and pricing your listings accordingly.

The search console gives you the ability to create an advanced eBay search for each listing.  The only required parameter is "Keywords" though it is highly advised to use a minimum price if your search suffers from cheaper, spam listings.  Keyword search uses the same syntax as normal searches on eBay and can also be a UPC or ISBN number.  If your item is listed in the eBay product catalog and was listed with a UPC or ISBN number (DVD, book, video game, etc) then Price Spectre will automatically fetch this information and place it in the search console for you.  Please wait a few minutes after first listing an item or joining Price Spectre for this to occur.  Click the search button to see a sample of what your search parameters produce.  Listed prices include shipping and handling charges.  When you are happy with the results click "Save" and close the console.

Finally, click the on/off switch to have Price Spectre manage your listing.  Your listing will immediately be updated to the price determined by your search parameters and selected algorithm.  Price Spectre will search eBay several times per day using your previously defined parameters.  Price Spectre takes into account your S&H charges so that you will be competing based on total price.

Price Spectre also allows you to manually change prices of non-managed listings, free of charge, by simply setting a floor and BIN price.  The greater of the two becomes your new price on eBay.  This also occurs when you decide to disable a managed listing.
