Sixteen years ago today, we launched Price Spectre.
At the time, the phrase dynamic repricer didn’t exist. Sellers weren’t talking about algorithmic pricing or automated strategy engines. What we offered was something new enough that we had to describe it ourselves — a dynamic pricing agent. An autonomous helper that worked on your behalf, scanned the marketplace, adapted to competition, and made intelligent decisions long before those ideas became mainstream.
Since then, e-commerce has accelerated. Marketplaces have grown more competitive, sellers rely on deeper analytics, and automation has become an expectation rather than a novelty. Price Spectre has continued to evolve with those changes — from competitive intelligence to pseudo imports to the custom Algorithm Editor — but our core philosophy has always stayed the same:
You should be able to tell the software what you want, and it should work for you — not the other way around.
That idea was true sixteen years ago, and it’s even more important today.
